Transworld International Youth Organization Scam?

If you’ve never heard of Transworld International Youth Organization welcome to the club. I sure never heard of them. Until now, that is.

What you see here is a grab of the “contact us” page of this organization which I assume now can confirm must be is some kind of scam. Why else would a real organization use a picture of MY office on their “contact us” page, implying it’s their “head office”? The address listed for Transworld International Youth Organization (TIYO?) is Brunham Road, FT. Smith, Arkansas, United States of America.

There is very little you can find about this organization but if you search for the name of their secretary, supposedly a person going by the name of Professor William Kim Higgins, you will find this particular e-mail (from 2003) where the person posting the e-mail asks whether this is a scam or not.

What strikes me as really funny, and is perhaps related to someone not paying attention. The www.stefandidak.com URL is part of the office photo because it links directly to one of the images on my site. If you’ve come to my site with questions about Transworld International Youth Organization or Prof. William Kim Higgins because you saw my URL in what they claim is their “head office” picture then I’m afraid I can’t help you. I have no idea who that is or what that organization is trying to do but I can tell you, it isn’t anything good and you are likely to lose information or money to this organization and the scam they are running. Needless to say, I have absolutely nothing to do with these crooks.

Looking at the rest of the website it just looks like a total scam revolving around global relief re-construction and some kind of vague conference. Note that the main site also has an alternate main page that’s linked from elsewhere in the site. I don’t know what kind of fraud ring this organization or the (probably fake) Prof. William Kim Higgins is running but it sure looks like it’s nothing good and the website does not inspire me with confidence. In fact, the text and content on the site just seems to scream “this is a total scam” as far as I can tell.

If you know more about this, please let me know of leave a comment here.

Addition: Some additional information can also be found here. This link features a warning about a scam called International Youth Org. Saying that an e-mail from one Secretary General, Madam Cynthia Brady is floating around. This particular Transworld Youth Organization uses the address of No 157 West 47th Street, New York, NY 10036.

Another addition: A website called Fraud Watchers also has some info on this scam. It appears the scam attempts to get your name, date of birth, place of birth, passport numbers, country code number, etc. information from you. For what is likely to be nefarious purposes.

Update April 4th, 2009: The scammers have killed their site. After exposing them in my post and updating an image on their site it only took them a week to discover the game was over. They had not just taken one of my office images, they linked directly to it. I modified that image so everyone visiting the website of these scammers showed THIS image. I expected they’d notice that sooner or later and take the image off. Instead, they just deleted their entire site (which was hosted by FreeServers).

Wow. Yet another instance of an idiot doing a search for pictures, and not bothering to check out the site they’ve pulled it from. Because if they had taken even 5 minutes to peruse this site, they’d see the recent posts about Mr. Alves, and they might have thought twice about using your pictures.

The world is full of stupid people, as the song goes.

    Hi everybody.

I had also been contacted by this particular Lousie William who tried throughout amoureux.com to swindle me about 800Euros by asking me to make a reservation to espirito santo hotel in dakar in regard of that conferences.
Unfortunately for them it was not possible for me to do so. That’s why a wrote a mail to Mrs Cynthia Brady asking this:
Dear Mrs Cynthya, in the scale of charismatics values, what is important; an affidavit statement on oaths or a hotel reservation? Till now my mail is without any answer. It a year ago.

Yes – this is indeed a scam. I just been dealing with them. The terrible grammar and innumerable spelling errors in all their communication is the first warning, then followed by fake hotels (they floated out Hotel Praia Maria and Hotel Espirito Del Santo – which I checked were not in the country claimed), then the clearest one is when they start asking you to pay for hotel reservation by transferring cash as a precondition for enjoying other “free” things like air tickets and food etc. They even called me by phone – they were certainly Nigerians from their accents, including the one who claimed to be calling me from the US. I have learned that they are using, as bait, “young ladies” who pose as people looking for pals, who then starting getting flirtatious and the whole thing culminates in the young lady inviting you over to a conference; “I can’t wait to meet you as my lovely companion at the conference. Am sure we will have a nice time.” Drop them like a maggot-infested piece of rotten fruit!

I applied for a job through an add and the first thing they asked for was a copy of my credit report. I tried looking up the company and this is what I found. Thanks for the heads up!

I too just applied for a job on craigslist. I filled out their application and now they want me to get the copy of my credit report. Looks like I won’t be getting this one either….

You are doing a great service to the world by letting us know about such fake individuals who want to swindle money from us. I almost became a victim.

I know this is late but I just found this on craigs list today and sent them This email as a response for the scam theyre running with.

    Good Morning Adam,
Here is a copy of my credit score. I will not attach the entire thing as I have been told of various scams online to obtain information on people to steal their identaties. The interview would be best to set up once I know where you are located. Thank you for considering me for this position.

I got my credit report offline at a free website and took the credit score page and hit (print screen), pasted it in word and saved as a DOC. This way I can respond to the jobs without suppling them with any pertanant information. I do not know if this is a job idea or not but I do not want to miss out on any real job oppertunities.

Mid 2009 ,I happened to be very close friend with Lousie William via Amorex.com and after we shared dreams and a lot rhings in life she recomended me to take part a coference in Trans World International Youth Organization .I then got Participant letter from Madam Cynthia Brandy saying that I must Book accomodation only for Senegal but the rest like in New York ,said I was sponsored . However the drama came later when I was robed blind as I booked through Wetern Union after they called me on the phone quite often to do so. ….Finaly all this scam brought my life to the end by wasting all my resources and breaking me apart with my very family who provided me the money since I am an Ethiopian asylum in Nairobi Kenya ,also who is not emloyed for over years. So please advice if I can heal from this life time pain.
    Love always
