What is a window definition?

A window definition is a combination of properties (criteria) and actions. Simple enough?

Not nearly as simple!

A window definition is a collection of properties and actions that allows the Windows Layout Manager to:

•	Recognize windows on the desktop

•	Apply actions to the windows it recognizes

•	A combination of options that may cause sleepless nights

Actionless windows

A window definition is considered to be actionless if it has one or more properties that define it but has none of the actions enabled. Having a layout with window definitions that contain no actions is possible.
