Active Window Context Popup Menu
This tutorial assumes that Internet Explorer is on your desktop and is not minimized or maximized.
It also assumes that you are using the factory default configuration. If you are not sure whether you are using the defaults, use the Options -> Use Defaults menu item from the layout manager.
Imagine there are 2 different fixed positions you prefer to have for your Internet Explorer window. Let's assume for the sake of this example that the first fixed position and size is 0,0 using a size of 1000,700 and the second is 400,100 using a size of 400,500.
1. Creating a layout to contain our context items
| • | Check the Enable individual popup selection so it is ON |
| • | Click the Add... button to start adding a window definition |
| • | When the window editor opens, hit the Find button |
| • | Locate your Internet Explorer window in the window locator that will appear and double click it |
| • | Change the title to *Internet Explorer* |
| • | Change the description to First Position |
| • | Enable the Position X/Y action and set it to 0,0 |
| • | Enable the Size W/H action and set it to 1000,700 |
| • | Click OK on the window editor |
| • | Select the window definition you've just created and click the Copy button in the layout editor. |
| • | Select the copied window and double click it or click the Edit button |
| • | Change the description to Second Position. |
| • | In the window editor change the position to 400,100 |
| • | And change the size to 400,500 |
| • | Click OK on the window editor |
| • | Click OK on the layout editor |
2. Enable the popup hotkey
| • | From the layout manager go to Options -> Configuration |
| • | Enable the Popup Hotkey and set it to Win + Control + Alt + W |
| • | Click OK on the configuration dialog |
3. Try it
| • | Minimize the layout manager or leave it on the desktop if you prefer that |
| • | Select the Internet Explorer window so it becomes the active window |
| • | Hit Win + Control + Alt + W |
You should now see a popup menu at your cursor position where it provides you the option to select two different positions that have been recognized as being applicable to the Internet Explorer window.
