Vape Station

February 25, 2014 by Stefan Didak 5 Comments

After my recent “epic sized” blog post on ignorance about vaping a few people asked to see some pictures of my “vaping gear” in The Office. Well, I’m happy to oblige since I’ve now finally set things up in a way that work for me. It is, in part, thanks to one of our cats, Bece, that I ended up with more plastic display stands than I originally planned to get.

As I was ordering a few things online she jumped up and walked straight over my MacBook Pro Retina. As I tried to get her to move her butt off of it she trampled a few times on the trackpad and it wasn’t until I placed the order that I noticed there were a few more things in there than I planned on.

Ah, well… such things do happen. I guess she just likes vape gear and decided I should get more. Lots more. Perhaps I should “blame” her for all my vape related purchases, right Anyway, I have a few more mods, RBA’s and RDA’s on the way and thanks to Bece I know have enough holes to last me a while. Luckily those plastic stands were cheap so it didn’t result in any holes in my wallet.

I also got a few new types of USB LED lights and one of them you can see below, lighting up the vape gear. You know I love my USB LED lights in the office, right? Mods are a mix of things. Mostly I tend to stick with the Astro, Nemesis, Vamo V5’s but also use a few clones like the Caravella, Origin and Poldiac. Tank wise, it’s a bit of a mix as well along the same lines ranging from a few Kayfun’s, Russian’s, Protanks, Mini Protanks, Aqua, Kraken, Steam Turbine, Trident’s (V1’s and V2’s), iClear 30’s, and a few strange miscellaneous ones and of course some regular clearo’s that I use on various eGo’s (I do tend to take eGo’s with me where I go simply because of simplicity). Soon I’ll be losing track of it all, I’m sure.

And while I was at it to take a few pictures, here’s a short of my “coil building station”. Seems that the two sinks in the home office are finally put to good use. As you can see, a rotation of ADV’s (which will mean something to other vapers), screwdrivers of different sizes, a torch, lots of different tweezers and some tools like precision scissors and needle-nose pliers, paper towels for the occasional spill or leak, lots of different gauges of kanthal A1 wire, and of course drawers filled with various sizes of sillica wick and organic unbleached cotton balls. And cotton swabs. Lots of’em!

Not too long ago I also discovered a perfect use for the two medicine cabinets at the sides of the above “coil building station” in the office. As you can see… PERFECT USE indeed! Lots of samples I’m still going through as well as a bit of personal stock of Johnson Creek Vanda and Silverthorn. And a few from Mount Baker Vapor and Virgin Vapor because no vaper should be without those.

I’ve got a few 16oz bottles of Berry Creamy, Moo Juice, Grape, Vanilla Butternut, and Jamaican Rum coming in this week because dripping and producing clouds sure drains liquid fast! Those 16oz bottles (that’s 473ml, close to half a liter) should last me a while and if they don’t I also have a few 100ml bottles coming in from Yealic, namely Mango, Strawberry Lollipop, Saber Blood, Yellow Custard, Green Caramel, Morning Vape, and Israel Coffee. You can probably tell those two medicine cabinets are going to be too small…

And yes, I go through a lot of 18650 batteries… not pictured are the collection of EFest 30 amp purple 18650’s… because they’re all in use right now. 🙂

That is a super impressive vape set up you have going on there. Love how organized you have everything. Hope you are enjoying your Mt Baker Vapor e juice.

Thanks. And yes, definitely enjoying all the MBV flavors. You know what’s really funny, though… I was just watching the video from the convention in Florida that Phil and Dimitri did and exactly at the time I was watching the portion about the MBV booth, this comment arrived. Nice timing there, James! 🙂

Thats how we roll. You will need to make it out to one of the conventions we are at one of these days and say hi 😀

My hunney would appreciate the shear precision of it all. My first thought was…how do you keep it all dust free?
I’m a slob, I use the bin system. The parts bins in a metal box works best for me. I was even going to break out my labeler, but I kept moving stuff around in it so much, I didn’t bother. I also use my beloved Gashlycrumb Tinies lunch pail.

      Hey Kathleen!

I try to keep things dust free as much as possible but most of the time when I grab an RBA or RDA I usually rinse it first anyway. Most of the vape station is “rotation” so I use quite a few things during the day (call me crazy but I actually like using 10 mods and 10 flavors and mix some clouds with some more discreet plumes).

I do the bin stuff as well, mostly two tackle boxes that contain all sorts of other parts and all the random bits that accumulate over time. I should update the pictures sometime soon, though because the Vape Station itself sort of doubled in size since that post. Hmm… that actually sounds like I might have a problem! 🙂
